Avoda Arts is a cultural and educational program that offers
participants a creative understanding of Judaism through the
arts. We offer a variety of interactive learning opportunities
that explore the relationship between creativity and the “big
themes” in Judaism. Programs include: hands-on workshops,
seminars for educators, art exhibitions, and intensive courses.
We believe that meaningful Jewish education depends on its
ability to successfully engage participants. Our innovative
programs draw upon the theory of multiple intelligences, which
suggests there are different pathways to learning and understanding.
Our arts-based programs provide a "multi-sensory"
approach to learning, involving visual stimulation, hands-on
activity, spirited inquiry, and emotional response. By combining
substantive Judaic content and innovative educational practice,
our programs aim to foster participants’ positive identification
with Judaism.
Avoda Arts is available to consult with individuals and organizations
who are interested in designing arts and culture-based programming
for their target audiences.
