InterfaithFamily.com empowers interfaith families to make
Jewish choices for themselves and their children, and encourages
the Jewish community to be welcoming of interfaith families.
InterfaithFamily.com produces a website and operates a membership
association, the InterfaithFamily.com Network.
The website is the leading online resource where interfaith
families interested in Jewish life will find the useful information
they want and need. It includes:
• An Internet magazine that is the only Jewish publication
in the world, either online or in print, that reaches out
directly to interfaith families, delivering helpful, non-judgmental
information and a warm welcome that can be accessed privately,
at any time that is convenient to the user. We publish bi-weekly
issues on topics of interest to interfaith families, featuring
articles by members of these families and by professionals
who work with them. Our Archive makes it easy to access the
most extensive array of writing about interfaith family issues
available anywhere.
The Guide to Jewish Interfaith Family Life: An InterfaithFamily.com
Handbook (Jewish Lights Publishing), an anthology of some
of the best articles from our magazine, is "invaluable
for interfaith couples and indispensable for all who seek
to welcome them into the Jewish world" (Dru Greenwood);
it is "filled with helpful strategies, wisdom, humor
and hope" (Anita Diamant).
• The Connections In Your Area section of our website
lists current, updated information about programs and organizations
in local Jewish communities that welcome the participation
of interfaith families. We plan to expand this section to
include other helpful local information, including listings
of rabbis who officiate at intermarriages and Jewish cemeteries
where interfaith couples can be buried together.
• InterfaithFamily.com’s online discussions allow
readers to support and inform each other by sharing their
experiences.
The InterfaithFamily.com Network, our membership association,
gives members the opportunity to meet each other in both online
and in-person groups, and acts as a grass-roots advocacy organization
working to foster a Jewish community that is genuinely open,
welcoming and inclusive -- one that understands, and is sensitive
to, the realities of today's interfaith families, and encourages
their Jewish choices. The Network advocates for attitudes,
policies and practices that Jewish organizations and leaders
can use to engage and include interfaith families within the
Jewish community.
